1. Context & Problem Statement
A distributed 14-repository ecosystem spanning frontend, backend, ML engines, and data collectors requires predictable, containerized zero-downtime deployment and automated reverse proxy routing.
2. Decision
We standardized on Docker Compose orchestration behind Traefik reverse proxy on Hetzner Cloud infrastructure with automated TLS 1.3 Let's Encrypt certificates, WebSocket proxying, health check probes, and GitHub Actions continuous delivery pipelines.
3. Consequences & Trade-Offs
Positive Outcomes
Zero-downtime rollouts with automated blue-green container replacement
Native HTTP/2 and WebSocket multiplexing managed dynamically by Traefik labels
Isolated private bridge networks protecting internal database and Redis instances
Negative / Trade-Offs
Multi-container deployments require careful runner disk space and cache management
Mitigation Strategies
Automated disk cleanup actions injected into CI runners to prevent storage exhaustion
